Idaho Legal Aid Receives $7000 Grant
The City of Idaho Falls awards Community Development Block Grant funds to Idaho Legal Aid to help survivors of domestic violence.
Idaho Falls, Idaho (August 17, 2016)
Idaho Legal Aid is pleased to announce that its Idaho Falls office is the recipient of a $7,000 grant to help low-income survivors of domestic violence who live in Idaho Falls. This funding was awarded by the City of Idaho Falls through the Community Development Block Grant Program.
Survivors of domestic violence experience legal problems at a substantially higher rate and many do not have the financial resources to hire an attorney. Without legal representation they are left to navigate a confusing legal system on their own, often with poor results. Funding from the City of Idaho Falls Community Development Block Grant will allow Idaho Legal Aid to help more survivors of domestic violence achieve safety and stability in their lives by providing them with legal education, advice, and representation.
The Idaho Falls Legal Aid attorneys have years of experience providing services to survivors of violence in eastern Idaho. They coordinate with local crisis centers, law enforcement, victim witness coordinators, and other organizations to provide the essential support that is needed for survivors to end violence and achieve stability and safety in their lives.
On behalf of our staff, attorneys, and clients, Idaho Legal Aid would like to say thank you to the City of Idaho Falls for seeing the value in our mission and helping us expand our services to help more low-income survivors of domestic violence in need.
