~~Full Time Positions~~
Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS) is seeking applicants for a full time (37.5 hours per week) staff attorney at its Lewiston office to serve clients in Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce Counties. The attorney may represent clients in a variety of areas including family law, housing, public benefits, Native American (civil and criminal defense in tribal court) and senior law. Must be a member of the Idaho State Bar or able to readily obtain admission. See full announcement for further details and application procedures.
Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS) is seeking an attorney to serve agricultural workers in southern Idaho. Your clients would primarily consist of agricultural workers needing representation in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies on a range of legal issues including wage theft, workplace health and safety, housing, civil rights abuses, public benefits, a limited immigration practice, and other issues. Idaho farmworkers predominantly come from Mexico, but also include Peruvian and Chilean sheepherders. You would conduct regular outreach and education to agricultural workers and partner organizations. You must be able to speak, read, and write in Spanish. This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week. ILAS is a nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to low income persons in civil matters. Volunteers are vital for us to serve our client community. Active and retired attorneys, law and paralegal students, as well as concerned citizens contribute invaluable services to our offices each year. We have attached some sample law student internship job descriptions to demonstrate some of the opportunities available to Idaho Legal Aid Services volunteers. Note: Because ILAS is a non-profit organization, we are unable to pay individuals interested in an internship, however college credits can be earned.
