ILAS and the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program Jointly Call on all Fourth District Attorneys
The lawyers at Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS) furnish almost all eviction defense for families on the brink of homelessness in the Treasure Valley. Massive job loss due to the Great Recession has inundated ILAS with meritorious cases from growing numbers who cannot afford an attorney.
Since April, ILAS has been forced to call a moratorium on new eviction defense cases in the Fourth District because its attorneys have reached caseload capacity.
ILAS and the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program jointly call on all Fourth District attorneys to accept one eviction defense case as soon as possible. Attorneys pledging to help one family prevent homelessness by handling an eviction defense will be trained and receive CLE credit (pending):
